    • Do you have a legal issue in a county outside of the metro area?

      MNLRIS attorney offices are located in the metro area.  However, by speaking with a referral counselor, we can identify which attorneys are willing to accept cases that may be tried in greater Minnesota.  Many cases can be handled remotely.  For cases that require in-person representation, you will likely have to pay the attorney’s cost to travel.


      MN Unbundled is uniquely geared to help individuals outside of the metro area.  Lawyers in this program can review your legal issue and design a plan that works for your individual needs. They can give you advice, draft a letter, review a contract, or help you fill out forms - each with its own upfront, predicable cost.  This type of work does not require an attorney to be present in a court room and helps you avoid pay the attorney’s cost to travel.

    • Are you looking for help hiring an attorney who will answer a brief question or perform a small, discreet task?

      MN Unbundled is a program specifically geared toward individuals who are looking to hire an attorney for a discreet legal issue or task.  Unbundled legal services (also known as limited scope legal services) are made to fit your needs and budget. Lawyers in this program will review your legal issue and design a plan that works for you and your budget. They can give you advice, draft a letter, help you fill out forms, or go to court with you - each with its own upfront cost. Because you decide what you will do and what the lawyer will do, you can work with your lawyer for as much or as little time as needed. Unbundled services can save you money and makes it possible to get only the legal assistance you need.

    Can't Afford an Attorney? We're Here to Help

    The MN Lawyer Referral Service and Information Service hosts a Reduced Fee Program which provides reduced-cost legal services for clients who have legal issues in Minnesota. In order to qualify for this program, you must have some form of stable income which lies between 125-250% of the federal poverty guidelines.
